Christmas in PA
Augusta Baptist Senior Adult Tour
December 2-3, 2014
Come join other senior adults from Augusta Baptist Association for a fun-packed overnight tour to Lancaster, PA.
We will depart from Linda Heights Baptist Church parking lot at 7:30 AM on December 2 and will return December 3 at approximately 8:00 pm.
The tour will include:
“Joy to the World,” the 2014 Christmas show at American Music Theatre. The show is Lancaster’s most beloved holiday show, filled with awe-inspiring music and dance, incomparable voices, and traditional and sacred Christmas music. The show promises to warm your heart and touch your soul with the true meaning of Christmas-a memory you will cherish for years to come.
An Amish family style dinner awaits us at Plain & Fancy Restaurant followed by a Chalk Talk presentation.
We will spend the night at The Country Inn of Lancaster. Their charming rooms have beautiful Country décor which includes many hand-made furnishings by local craft people. Rooms also include two queen sized beds with Amish style quilts on every bed as well as free premium High Speed WiFi and cable TV & HBO. Included in our stay is an American Breakfast that will help start our second day.
A visit to the National Christmas Center will provide a journey like no other as we explore the magic and memories, history, and traditions of Christmas-past and present. 20,000 square feet is filled with life-sized, walk-through, indoor exhibits that bring the holiday to life.
A stop at Ketchen Kettle Village offers the best of Lancaster County with over 40 specialty shops and plenty of hands-on activities. Mouth watering foods, outrageous shopping, fun rides, and activities are available for our enjoyment.
Our last stop before heading home is at the Biblical Tabernacle Reproduction. We will visit the fullsize reproduction of Moses’ Tabernacle in the Wilderness, designed from Biblical descriptions in the book of Exodus! A knowledgeable guide will lead us through the Tabernacle, outlining the Biblical history, describing each article of furniture, and explaining its function, material, size, and meaning.
In addition to the above, the tour includes a roundtrip motor coach transportation, baggage handling (one bag per person), all taxes and gratuities on the two included meals.
Cost of the tour is: $231.00 per person for double, $283.00 for single, $214.00 per person for triple, and $205 per person for quad.
